A Fulbright workshop on international teaching and research opportunities will be offered from
1-3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, in the UTS Auditorium.

“Competition for hundreds of new short-term and long-term Fulbright grants for U.S. faculty and professional staff opens Feb. 1,” said Lorraine Aun, director of USC’s Office of International Support for Faculty and Staff. “This workshop will significantly aid members of the University community who want inside information on how to present their credentials for a successful application.”

The workshop will feature Margo Cunniffe of the Council for International Exchange of Scholars. Her presentation will help American faculty and professional staff at USC:

• Learn about teaching and research opportunities in more than 125 countries
• Obtain advice on selecting countries for application and making contacts abroad
• Better prepare Fulbright applications
• Explore how their departments can host a visiting foreign Fulbright scholar
• Find out how their U.S. students can access Fulbright opportunities.

Other speakers at the workshop will include three-time faculty Fulbright recipient and former President of the S.C. Fulbright Alumni Association Dr. Timothy Bergen. On-hand to discuss Fulbright opportunities for USC students will be Novella Beskid and Dr. Jeff Persels from the University’s Office of Fellowships and Scholar Programs.
