Teacher and Employee Retention Incentive (TERI)

TERI is a deferred retirement plan that allows eligible members of the S.C. Retirement System to retire for purposes of the S.C. Retirement System and escrow their monthly retirement checks while continuing to work in their current positions for up to five years.

Since circumstances affecting retirement decisions vary from individual to individual, faculty and staff are encouraged to seek answers to specific questions from a benefits counselor at the University or the S.C. Retirement System.

For more information about TERI, review our Frequently Asked Questions section, telephone or e-mail the University's Benefits Office at 777-6650 or the S.C. Retirement System at 737-6800 in Columbia or 1-800-868-9002 from elsewhere in South Carolina.
