Dual Career Employment Services

Who Qualifies

This is a free service provided for partners of newly recruited University of South Carolina faculty or professional staff. The University's Employment Office is ready to provide participants in the Dual Career Employment Services Program with the information needed to conduct their job search — from building a resume to planning a proactive networking strategy.

How the Service Works

Ideally, a department will contact the Employment Office as part of its recruiting plan. Of course, the partner or the candidate may contact the Employment Office directly for assistance in identifying employment opportunities.

To access this service, use the Dual Career Employment Referral Form located on the Human Resources website. Once a referral is received, a USC Employment Coordinator will contact the interested individual about completing an Employment Placement Questionnaire. This form is on the website as well, or the information may be provided by phone.

Remember, it is best to take advantage of these services as soon as the recruited faculty or professional staff member knows he or she will be relocating.

Participants in Dual Career Employment Services will have access to job postings within the University, as well as those in the surrounding community. While the program cannot guarantee employment, a wide range of career assistance services are available to help develop an effective job search strategy.

The Employment Coordinator will take an active role in assisting the partner to find suitable employment through one-on-one meetings and correspondence, evaluating cover letters and resumes, sending community business associates the partner’s job profile, as well as reviewing USC's job openings and online employment process.
