Diversity in the Workplace

Like trees in a forest, humans come in a variety of sizes, shapes, and colors. These differences include ethnic and cultural backgrounds, persons with disabilities, older workers, females and minorities. As the work force changes, our views on diversity must also change. This session will explore what diversity means, the value of diversity in an organization, and common fears and barriers faced when working in a diverse environment. The importance of understanding, respecting, and accepting individual differences will also be addressed.
