Sexual Harassment
Recognition and Prevention Program

Were you aware of the following facts about sexual harassment?

  • Sexual harassment does not have to involve a request for sexual favors.
  • There can be sexual harassment between members of the same sex.
  • Academic freedom does not cover sexually explicit language in the classroom.
  • Sexual harassment can take place via the Internet, as well as off campus.
  • There is no such thing as an invalid complaint of sexual harassment.

Sexual harassment on college and university campuses, more than any other issue in recent higher education history, continues to have a major effect on the relationships of students, faculty, administrators, and staff. You may be held personally liable if a sexual harassment charge is brought against you and you have taken an action that violates University policy. There are no real winners in a sexual harassment complaint. Attend this session and find out why.
